Artist of the Month / Prop Stylist Alma Melendez
This month's featured artist is fairly new to our roster, but comes to us with years of experience under her belt. Alma Melendez grew up near the Atlantic in the Rockaways and is a New Yorker at heart. She graduated with a degree in screenwriting and began her prop and set styling career on independent films. Later she dabbled in video production for online media before falling in love with still life and finding her niche in commercial photography.
Her love of story telling combined with her visual aesthetic have led her to create sets, work on still life and tabletop, as well as lifestyle commissions. In the last seven years Alma has collaborated with a range of talented photographers; Ashton Worthington, Plamen Petkov, Charles Masters, Staudinger+Franke, and Jonathan Kantor, to name a few.
Alma specializes in a accessories, props, and cosmetic still life and has worked on several ad campaigns including Visa, Alize', MassMutal and Dell.
